Pulvis Et Umbra were form in 2002 as a Gammaray's tribute band under the name of Sigh No More, but the members decided to start immediately with own compositions during the early months so they also changed the moniker. The band played very few live show til 2005 dute to numeorus line-up changes. During 2006 Damian (only one stand former member) recorded a mini acoustic EP titled "Qui Valet Hic Mundus, Quid Gloria, Quidve Triumphus Post Miserum Fonus ..." together with Bado (bass player of HUMAN SHIELD) and Cello (actually drummer of PULVIS ET UMBRA) at NOISE STUDIOS in Brixia. The work (influenced by bands as Opeth, Anathema and Paradise Lost) received good revies from national/international press and in 2007 the band come back to the roots of its sound with a mini EP title "Pure Longobard Noize", a 6 track mix of thrash/death metal with hardcore influences. With a new line-up, Pulvis Et Umbra returns to the live scene around october 2007, playing in numerous clubs/festivals together with bands like IRREVERENCE, MECHANICAL GOD CREATION, SOWN, CIDODICI, GORY BLISTER, SEPTYCAL GORGE, CADAVERIC CREMATORIUM, BLOOD TSUNAMI (thrash metal band from Oslo - NO - featuring ex Emperor Faust on drums), NECROART, IMAGO MORTIS etc The band is currently writing new material which will be recorded in early 2009 probably as their debut album; in the meantime, P.E.U. is scheduling some live shows that will see the band play in the norther part of italy, Slovakia and more ones to come...
